Agua-Pure water technology is a distribution division resulting from the efforts of Dorven & Phyllis King, owners of The Office Center, Inc., Portales, NM, and PHSI (Pure Health Solutions, Inc.) manufacturing company. The primary focus of Agua-Pure is to bring clean, pure water to the office and home environments.
Craig Story, President & CEO of Pure Health Solutions, Inc., was previously founder and director of System Chemistry, Inc., a leading edge developer and manufacturer of high purity chemical delivery systems for the semiconductor industry. Finding himself in need of pure drinking water for his own use, and seeing what the available options were, knew there had to be a better means to acquire pure drinking water.
Utilizing his background in high purity technology Mr. Story developed several product concepts through the research, engineering and prototype phases while at the same time initiating patent, copyright and trademark filings. In January 1998, PHSI launched the sale of its first product, the PWI six-stage water purification system. PHSI's current PW1R has come to be known as the worlds most advanced stand alone personal water purification system in existence.
Dorven and Phyllis King have owned and operated The Office Center, Inc. located in Portales and Clovis New Mexico for 32 years. The Office Center, Inc. has a broad customer base and focuses on office technology featuring Sharp Electronics Copier Workstations, furniture and all aspects of business and office product supply and services.
Many years ago while visiting Arizona and California Dorven noticed that the source of drinking water in these areas came from a bottle. Using tap water, as we have in our rural communities, was not an option. Drinking water stations were everywhere. Bottled water coolers and purification systems were "standard issue". It was his thought that the time would come to our own area that water quality would be an issue here as well.
This thought was placed on the back burner but would not go away. Within the next two years our public was informed of scams and potential health risk due to the service points and techniques of using bottled water. Injuries were reported to OSHA resulting in the continuous lifting of 42 pound bottles not to mention injuries sustained if they were dropped.
The thought was returning in full force as Mr. King saw that the offices his company serviced almost always had a bottled water system with each, many complaints about this service. The pieces began to fit but did not come full circle until it was obvious that our own rural communities were experiencing not only a water quantity issue with our ground water source but a quality issue as well.
It was time for action and Mr. King knew his office product company would be an excellent resource to bring his customers quality water without the bottled water headaches. The only problem was finding a purification unit that met the quality and durability standards he had enjoyed in his office equipment product line which had been refined for 32 years.
A bit of fate intervened when he discovered PHSI manufacturing or they discovered him. Many of PHSI's key personnel had come from office product backgrounds. They too felt the office product industry was an ideal resource for distribution of their quality systems.
It is through these resources that we are happy to announce Agua-Pure. A combined effort featuring the high quality manufacturing of PHSI and the quality customer care of The Office Center, Inc. Together, along with independent representatives, bringing Cleaner Water to New Mexico and West Texas.
