There are many agencies, including State, National and Independent Non-Profit that are watch groups for our environment. We select the groups that offer a large quantity of information and news and have listed these below.
EPA ~ The US Environmental Protection Agency ~ Purpose to protect human health and the environment regarding such issues as air quality, water pollution and industry regulation.
NRDC ~ The Natural Resources Defense Council ~ An excellent non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of wildlife, forest, lakes, oceans and all the Earths natural resources. Excellent site for keeping you current of environmental news. Very notably one of the sites that exposed the bottle water rip off's being propagated.
ATSDR ~ Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry ~ A very informative site with its focus on Protecting America's Health from Toxic Exposures. This is one of the best reference sites I have found for good definitions of chemical compounds and their effects.
NM Environment Department ~ Ground Water: New Mexico's Buried Treasure ~ A very interesting article dealing with the ground water resources in New Mexico.
Water Tech Online Magazine ~ An entire resource devoted to water technology and water in the news.
NSF ~ The National Safety Foundation ~ Since 1944 NSF International has certified products and written standards that help protect food, water, air and consumer goods. A non-profit organization committed to help people living safer.
USGS ~ The United States Geological Survey ~ This site is packed with regional information regarding water and conditions. Specifically interesting are the New Mexico and Texas pages regarding water.
USWN Online ~ US Water News ~ An assortment of good articles relating to all aspects of water as well as good links to water organizations. This is an all purpose water site.
